About Roushan

Hi, I’m Roushan.

I’m a journalist, a traveler at heart, and a busy mama to two little twin girls who have made life more beautiful, more chaotic, and definitely more adventurous.

Long before motherhood, I loved discovering new places. I’m a Sagittarius, so maybe the need to explore was written in the stars—or maybe I’ve simply always been curious about what’s on the other side of the map.

For me, travel has never been only about collecting countries or checking landmarks off a list. It has always been a kind of therapy.

A change of scenery can change my mood. A beautiful street, an unexpected café, a view from the top of a hill, a sunset over the water, or a meal I’ve never tried before can make me feel like myself again. Travel gives me room to breathe, reset, and come home with a little more energy for everyday life.

Then I became a mother of twins.

Travel suddenly required more planning, more luggage, more patience—and a lot more snacks. But I didn’t want motherhood to mean putting that part of myself away. If anything, having my girls made me want to explore even more. I want them to grow up curious about the world, excited by different cultures, and unafraid to go somewhere they’ve never been before.

That’s why I created Roushan Roams.

This is where I share the places I discover, the trips that are actually manageable with little ones, the beautiful hotels and experiences worth spending on, the hidden gems people sometimes overlook, and the honest realities of traveling when life is already busy.

And I have one travel philosophy that you’ll probably hear a lot around here:

There is no ugly city if you know where to go.

I truly believe there is something worth discovering almost everywhere. Sometimes you just have to leave the obvious tourist route, turn down a different street, find the right neighborhood, order what the locals are eating, or catch a place at exactly the right time of day.

Roushan Roams is about finding those moments.

Some trips will be close to home. Some will take us across the world. Some will be with my twins, and some may simply be a chance for me to recharge. But they all come from the same belief: you don’t have to wait for the perfect time, the perfect destination, or the perfect circumstances to explore.

Life is already happening.

So let’s roam.
